Starset TheatreAfter more than 8 years, the stage schools are getting used to the move to their new name Starset Theatre. School Director John Hudson explains, “as our classes across the north-east grow in number and size, with more and more students wishing to join and be involved in several of our productions at once, we decided that a universal name across all our classes would help the students to feel part of the same organisation. This will also allow us to perform successful shows in other theatres, giving the students more opportunities, as well as increased scope for professional productions, all under the Starset Theatre banner.” The new logo and uniforms are already proving a hit with the students, and we hope that our audiences and supporters will also approve...2009 ProductionsThis year promises to be the best yet, with 2 top shows being performed exclusively by students from Starset Theatre. "Little Shop of Horrors" is no longer available for student performances due to the national tour - but we got in first! Our productions at the Customs House in April, featuring Tyneside students, and then at the Assembly Rooms, Durham, with a cast from our Durham class, were a great success, with some amazing performances. Our 2nd major show is "FAME - the Musical" - again, this is also on national tour, but we have secured the rights to perform at the Customs House in July. The Durham class will be performing their concert "A Night At The Movies" at Gilesgate School in November, followed in December by the Tyneside class with their "Musicals at Christmas" concert. Please keep an eye on our "Current Events" page for more information.... |
