"Little Shop of Horrors" was no longer available for student performances due to the national tour - but we got in first! Our productions at the Customs House in April, featuring Tyneside students, and then at the Assembly Rooms, Durham, with a cast from our Durham class, were a great success, with some amazing performances. Our 2nd major show was "FAME - the Musical" - again, it was also on national tour, but we secured the rights to perform at the Customs House in July. This was a fabulous production, with great audiences and an excellent cast. The Durham class also performed "A Night At The Movies" at Gilesgate School in November, which was followed in December by the Tyneside class with their "Musicals at Christmas" concert. Both shows were well-attended and gave all our students a chance to show their talent and progress. WELL DONE EVERYONE!!2010 ProductionsThis year promises to be another amazing year! The first show should be a concert featuring the students from the Sunderland class - keep an eye on the "Current Productions and Tickets" page for more information. In April, Starset Theatre will stage its first production of "Seussical the Musical" at the Customs House, South Shields with students from the Tyneside class. This will be followed in May by the Durham class's production of the show at the Assembly Rooms, Durham. Both classes have already started working on this "amayzing" show! In July, Starset Theatre will celebate 10 full years of classes in South Shields with a Gala "Happy Birthday" Concert at the Customs House. Featuring current and past students, we'll be taking a trip down memory lane by looking at some of the shows we've performed in the last 10 years, as well as showcasing some of our new talent! Later in the year there'll be concerts from the Durham class and Tyneside class, as well as hopefully, the first full-length show from the Sunderland class. KEEP AN EYE ON THE WEBSITE FOR MORE INFORMATION AS THE YEAR GOES ON..... |
