Seen AtWatch out for publicity surrounding the launch of a new initiative "Eric's Story"! Commissioned by Sheila Graber Animation Ltd., John Hudson Music Productions Ltd. played a major part in this anti-burglary video, which will be used in schools and youth groups to show the devastating effects of young people turning to theft. Students of Tyneside Stage School auditioned for the main roles of two young lads - with both being cast successfully and Ryan Donaldson becoming the face of Eric. Sheila Graber video-recorded the two in a variety of scenes before converting the film to animation - don't worry though, they are both still recognisable. John Hudson Music Productions Ltd also provided two actors to portray the stories of people affected by burglary - including our very own Elissa Hudson.
The voice of Eric was recorded in John's recording studio by Lee Dixon (a member of both Tyneside Stage School and RED Theatre), with Lee narrating the whole story and prompting the audience to think about the issues involved. Last but by no means least, John Hudson composed and recorded original music to back the video, finishing off the whole package. Backed by Northumbria Police and the Probation Service, "Eric's Story" was launched at the Customs House, South Shields on 8 October 2003.
Members of RED Theatre made a successful debut in "The Last Laugh", performed at the Library Theatre, South Shields in mid-September. Have a look at the photos and see what you missed! ![]()
Television AppearancesThere have been a run of TV appearances recently for young singers who started their training with John Hudson - Michelle Smith appeared on BBC1's Saturday Show karaoke competition, following Aidan Salter who won both his heat and the final of the same show's S Club karaoke competition. Charlotte Reid came through her heat of ITV's Stars In Your Eyes - Kids as Bjork with ease, but was pipped at the post in the final. Both Aidan and Charlotte appeared in Tyneside Stage School's production of Bugsy Malone at the Customs House, South Shields in July 2001. Onstage AppearancesTyneside Stage School's last production at the Customs House - "RATS" was well received with wonderful feedback from the audiences. The "Shields Gazette" also thought it was an excellent show. The youngsters from Tyneside Stage School certainly put their all into this modern-day Pied Piper production.
Blues BrothersTwo members of Tyneside stage school auditioned at the Theatre Royal, Newcastle with the national tour of the Blues Brothers. Jordan Branthwaite - who also has private lessons with John Hudson - was successful in winning the chance to rehearse with the show's musical director and producer before appearing on-stage with Jake and Elwood. |
