Music

John Hudson's professional career started as a pianist and keyboard player in local groups, quickly rising through the ranks to work with some of the north-east's top club-land acts. Using his own experiences and observations, John began to teach and guide other young people who wished to develop their musical and singing talents, and has taught now for approximately ten years.

Throughout this time, John has continued to work professionally in top hotels, both as a solo pianist and with successful function band "Dreamline", as well as acting as Musical Director for a variety of local musical societies. While working in local pantomime, John met Elissa Dawson, and the pair quickly realised that their combined theatre experience made them the perfect pair professionally, as well as personally. They formed the company in summer 2000 and opened Tyneside Stage School in September of that year, followed by Durham Stage School in 2003. John has continued to develop the music side of the company by writing and recording original music for a variety of animations as well as educational and promotional videos/CD-ROM's.

John's expertise is available to students of all ages through private lessons, or to students aged 6 - 18 at either of the company's stage schools. Under John's guidance, students have gone on to win competitions, locally and nationally, gain places at performing arts colleges either post-GCSE or at 18 for professional training, appear on television, work in local theatre (both amateur and professional) and with professional bands. Many students prefer to work purely for their own enjoyment and satisfaction, in the safety of the Recording Studio, until they feel ready to share their talents with family and friends either through performance or through the CD's they can record during lessons or studio time.
