Start your theatre career with John Hudson - drama, acting, local theatre, radio and television

Drama

Working along side John Hudson in the company is his business partner and wife, Elissa Hudson. Elissa started her theatre career at a very young age, and has studied drama and acting ever since. She has been involved in local theatre for many years, both on and off stage, and her talents have taken her into local radio and television, as well as promotional and educational videos/CD-ROMs.

Elissa regularly works with students of Tyneside Stage School and Durham Stage School, using a range of techniques to encourage imaginative work. Elissa also directs the major productions for each school, ensuring that the students' drama and acting skills are put to full use alongside their singing and dance work.

As well as teaching at Stage School, Elissa is also available for private lessons on a one-to-one basis. Students who have studied with Elissa to prepare for auditions have all been successful in gaining places at performing arts colleges or the National Youth Theatre.

RED Theatre is the most recent venture launched by the company, under Elissa's direction. This is a drama group for young adults, which aims to encourage and develop an all-round understanding of theatre and stage work, not just performance. The first production of RED Theatre was well received in September 2003.

Elissa enjoys a wide range of playwrights and drama, everything from comedy to tragedy, from the modern plays of John Godber to the drama of Chekov to the verse of Shakespeare, and encourages her students to broaden their drama experiences.
